Unified Taekwondo is unique style like no other! It combines the best of tradition martial arts, kickboxing and fitness.
The forms provide a way to develop proper stances, footwork, and to develop power and self defense techniques without a partner being necessary. It also provides great exercise routines you can take anywhere with you if trained with the right intensity.
When translated Taekwondo means “the Way of the kicking” commonly known as kickboxing. “Tae” is the “foot,” “Kwon” is the fist and “Do” means method or way.
For Tae Kwon Do, our goals at Martial Arts Academy are to help people improve their health, coordination, concentration, discipline, confidence, self-control, and awareness so they can lead happy, healthy and productive lives. We believe that anyone can learn and improve themselves whether male or female, young or old, slow or fast.
WHAT STUDENTS LEARN
Students learn striking and blocking techniques through traditional forms, self-defense techniques and sparring.
We teach students Taekwondo forms to develop proper stances, footwork, and self defense techniques without a partner being necessary. It also provides great exercise routines you can take anywhere with you if trained with the right intensity.
The Free Spar Patterns were introduced by Grand Master BK Park to develop sparring abilities. These help the student develop speed, proper footwork, and power. In our Taekwondo classes, students also work with kicking bags and sparring gear pads to effectively learn opponent distance and form timing for competition or street self-defense.
